We have two excellent new releases coming your way in the next two weeks. Apart from the fact they are damn good, we are particularly pleased to be releasing our first Wellington band, and our first Sydney band...kind of spreading the wings so to speak.

Anyways, let us tell you about...

Ghostplane Seven Track CD - The Panther Valley Country Club - Monday March 1st

This Monday the 1st of March sees the release of a seven tracker by Wellington's Ghostplane (formerly Dana Eclair). Recorded in the back-blocks north of Wellington during one or two long summers.

For those who don't already know, Ghostplane fall broadly into the category of experimental indie rock/pop with a side of dark alt-country thrown in. With three vocalists, acoustic and electric guitars, miscellaneous semi-functioning electronic devices, lopsided rhythms, old drum machines and due respect to the random element you could say, in musicological terms, they've 'got their own thing going' - and it is a very good thing.

The recording and production of 'Panther Valley' was done by Mark Dryburgh. However, following one too many late night band listening session he handed over mix tweaking duties to David Holmes, recordist of Jakob, Gramsci and many others.

You may have recently seen Ghosplane playing support for the Pretenders or Calexico (both in Wellington) or at other gigs (in other cities) along with the Verlaines, Phoenix Foundation, Voom or Fang. It is also possible you have heard the tracks 'State Hijak' (on b-net or 'The Hill is Alive' compilation) or 'The Straight and Narrow' (b-net or video).
